So I went to the auto show today. I didn’t take but two pictures but I’m still gonna go ahead and share some observations.

We’ll start with what was the main reason I went:

Kinja'd!!!

I. Am. In. Love.

It’s beautiful. It’s sleek. I’m 6'4" and fit perfectly. The seats are comfy. The wheel feels great in your hand. I’ve fallen head over heels in love.

Now, on to the rest of the show.

Lincoln and Cadillac were right across from each other. Cadillac had so many people it was hard to move. Lincoln had a couple people looking at the Continental and not much else...

There was a new Pacifica there, was nice (to look at since it was locked.)

I’m not entirely impressed with the new Civic’s interior. Still a lot of cheap feeling plastic.

New Acadia is really nice looking in person.

I don’t fit in an ND Miata :(

I do fit comfortably in the BRZ though :)

There was a V60 Polestar there. Holy hell I need those seats in my life.

Somehow me and my two other friends who are over 6' managed to almost comfortably fit in a new Spark. Which feels decently premium given it starts at like $12k

New Cruze looks hella nice.

Lexus brought every single car in white and in F-Sport trim. It was ok.

I played with CUE for a good amount of time. Never once had a complaint. Better than Sync by a long shot.

Still like the 4Runner

The Ram Laramie Limited is really, really, really, luxurious.

I’d be hard pressed to pick between the Tacoma and Colorado based on interiors and looks.

I’m a big guy and I never once thought the Fiesta ST’s Recaros hugged too tight.

I think the seats in a Mk7 GTI hug too tight actually.

New Fusion looks really nice in person.

The new Malibu is such an improvement over the old one, holy crap. Is there a most improved award someone could give that car?

The Buick Cascada is actually really nice. Came away impressed.

I don’t hate the Scion iM

The new Prius is even uglier in person. Oh my god it’s terrible.

And last but not least the ILX (I think it was an ILX) hand brake resembles an erect penis.

Oh yeah, here’s that other picture I took.

As someone with lower back issues(don’t jump a 1978 Subaru in a field), to me, the more tight the bolstering the better. I too am a big guy, and I love heavy bolstering.

I like how they rope off the Astons. At the Indianapolis Auto Show, the Lotus dealership roped off all their cars and the Jag dealer roped off the F-Types and locked the rest.

Meanwhile, Porsche had all it’s cars (one of them being a Panamera GTS that was fully loaded, came in at about $180,000) unroped and unlocked.

I wish Aston and Porsche came to ours. Hell, I wish BMW, Mercedes, and Audi came. The Aston was something the high end car dealer brought.

We only get BMW out of those 3. We also get Lotus/Rossion/Magnum/Zenos/Superperformance. We used to have Bentley, but they stopped coming about 2 years ago.

I'd almost maybe be willing to let that slide.

I haven’t brought myself to go to the StL Auto Show in a few years. A few friends went, and said Focus RS was there, but not the Raptor and GT, and no news on the Mazda Koeru, CX-9, or RX-Vision concept; can you confirm? If so I might find the chance to go see.

I’m impressed you were OK with CUE. I’ve experienced it to be among the worst newer infotainment systems out there, right along with Honda's new one with the awful touch-button volume control.

I went to the DC auto show today. I thought the interior of the new Camaro was incredibly nice, definitely better than the Mustang, but visibility is still a struggle. I also didn’t take many pictures, except the one below, because Holy crap what a beautiful color.

RS was there, no GT or even GT350. Just the normal fleet of Mazdas except a race spec Miata.

I think Cadillac just updated CUE not too very long ago. It seriously had the same speed as my iPhone does when switching between menus. The touch captive controls never once acted up either.

Looking in the rear view mirror of the Camaro was giggle inducing since half the mirror was pretty much useless. I thought looking out the sides wasn't too bad though.

I assume they think “no one here can/will buy our cars so why let them crawl around in them then we have to spend money cleaning them up. We show up only because the manufacturer expects us to”.

I just fit in the new Miata (6'1", 225, 34" inseam). Didn’t really fit in the NC - couldn’t look straight out of it. I might have to own one some day.
